UMA LUZ EXISTE NA PRIMAVERA

Foto por Fernando Campanella

Uma Luz existe na Primavera
Não presente no ano
Em qualquer outra estação -
Quando Março já chegando

Uma Cor se firma
Campos Solitários afora
Que a Ciência não alcança
Mas a Natureza Humana elabora.

Ela aguarda sobre a Relva,
A Árvore mais longínqua ela revela
E na mais remota Encosta, tu sabes,
Ela quase contigo fala.

Então quando Horizontes se movem
Ou meios-dias já longe ecoam
Sem a Fórmula do som
Ela se despede e nós ficamos -

Uma qualidade de perda
Que afeta nosso Contentamento
Como se Vendilhões subitamente
Houvessem usurpado um Templo.

(Poema por Emily Dickinson, livre tradução de Fernando Campanella)

A Light exists in Spring
Not present on the Year
At any other period -
When March is scarcely here

A Colour stands abroad
On Solitary Fields
That Science cannot overtake
But Human Nature feels.

It waits upon the Lawn,
It shows the furthest Tree
Upon the furthest Slope you know
It almost speaks to you.

Then as Horizons step
Or Noons report away
Without the Formula of sound
It passes and we stay -

A quality of loss
Affecting our Content
As Trade had suddenly encroached
Upon a Sacrament.
